YORK FARMSTEAD

This former farmstead was on Mark's radar for quite a while and upon passing it while driving home from Williams Grove Amusement Park, we decided to hit up as well. A hoarders delight and Hazmat nightmare, this once (could-be-yet-again) beautiful home was a nice little exercise in photography.

  2. Thanks! It was so nice to shoot a home once again, instead of an industrial site. There's a totally different sense of past where people once lived. Continued best to you too! – Cheers.

  3. Hey Tom, wow, what happened there ? What's the hazmat story ??? Hope you suited up before going in...

Love the baseball trophy, really touching, memories that got abandoned there.

Have you ever looked around much out towards Three Mile Island ? When I was living in Lancaster in '88 there were a number of homes that had obviously been abandoned in a hurry out there... have no idea if anything is left of them...

  4. The hazmat is in reference to the hoarding tendencies, food left behind and (sadly) a cute little furry friend who obviously didn't make it out alive – all covering the floors of the home.

We never go near any major government sites with cameras, by the way. Not a good idea to have 2-3 guys, looking like we do, driving around with cameras – acting secretive and trying not to be seen! (laughs)

However, for the record, I do believe there's quite a bit of abandonment nearby TMI. We just won't be the ones shooting it! ;)
